Elliott Evans

Elliott traces his love for marine biology back to summers on the Gulf Islands where he spent his time snorkeling and exploring tide pools. Now, as a fourth-year biology student at UBC, Elliott is excited to be part of the ecotoxicology lab for his third and fourth co-op work terms where he hopes to get his hands wet helping with fieldwork, a wastewater treatment plant effluent exposure experiment, and dissecting fish heads. His first work term was in the Mary O’Connor Lab at UBC where he conducted research on the effect of diet on a species of local sea slug, and his second work term was with West Coast Kelp Ltd in Bamfield, BC, where he helped produce kelp seed for local kelp farmers and restoration groups and helped expand the company’s nursery operations. In his free time, he likes to run, play the guitar, cook, bird, and read.
