Growing up in North Vancouver, BC and spending many summers on the Sunshine Coast Carys was raised with a love and appreciation for the marine environment. Starting as a co-op student from the University of British Columbia in September 2020 Carys has worked in the Marine Mammal Ecotoxicology lab for almost 4 years. After a year as a co-op student in the lab and completing her BSc in Biology at UBC in 2022 Carys returned to work in the lab as a technician. As a technician Carys works to support all ongoing projects assisting with sample collection, laboratory analyses, instrument maintenance, and training of new students. Exciting changes are coming as Carys is planning to start a masters degree at Simon Fraser University in the Fall of 2024 under the supervision of Dr. Tanya Brown.
