Micah's research is focused around the factors influencing the marine migratory behavior of chinook and coho salmon in the Pacific Northeast. His research also aims at looking at the relative global and local sources of priority contaminants from these various marine regions across the Pacific Northeast and their broader consequences for resident Killer Whales and their food-web. Micah uses and develops techniques for LA-ICP-MS to look at the microchemistry of otoliths to infer migratory life histories of individual fish that return as adults to their natal river systems.
